Recalibrating after the holidays. That is the reflection of the day. Boy! What a challenge it is to be able to come back to your crazy routine that you have when you are working or just living life and you’re able to go away and disconnect completely. It’s so hard when you come back and I think we can all attest that sometimes, we get completely lost because we don’t know how to go back and refocus on our daily routines. This is something that actually happened to me. I am sharing this with you because I was away for the holidays in my house in Vermont, my Escapo. This is what we call it which is the place for me that is heaven on Earth. I have this ability of disconnecting completely. I don’t even get dressed. I wear sweatpants and t-shirts and I don’t put makeup on and I don’t care about blow drying my hair. I’m just living and connecting with families and with nature. So, this particular New Years was a special night for me. My boyfriend proposed to me that night in front of my children and his children and other very important people in my life. He proposed in this beautiful place which is in Vermont. He knows that is one of the places that I love to be in the most. So, it was a magical night. It was a magical few days where we were snowmobiling, we were playing with the snow and just connecting and loving and eating beautiful meals. Just living life, living the moment and creating these incredible memories. So when I come to work on Monday, there is a tremendous shock. I felt completely lost on how to get a hold of the day and little by little I kept accepting that I’m in that space. I decided at some point, “Ok, Stop! I am going to recalibrate. I’m going to refocus and what I did was that I just said, “Okay, I’m going to forget about everything that I need to do. I’m just going to take one thing at a time and I’m going to do baby steps until I feel that I’m getting control of my day. I’m actually doing this podcast as a part of my daily routine where I was able to just sit and start it because I was able, a few hours ago, to get a few things done and I started to feel the momentum that “ok, I’m getting it. I’m feeling it.” I am getting to recalibrate and refocus because I felt that I was able to share this podcast with you guys. So today, I am asking you to reflect on do you feel this way and what are you doing about it? Are you getting frustrated? Are you getting angry? Are you impatient? All of those feelings could start going away just by you taking baby steps. so let’s reflect, reset and reconnect.
