How to feed your soul with a simple question. That is the reflection of the day. The question is what is your story? I know some of you might be saying to yourself, “Wow, that’s a very broad question.” That’s a very daring question. Many times, we are uncomfortable to ask and what we have are superficial relationships throughout our lives. I think this is something that actually happens a lot at work. We have these people that are with us and they have stories. But, yet, we don’t even know what their stories are because sometimes, we feel that, well, this is just work. We don’t need to connect. We are coming here to work. But ironically, we spend most of our time at work. In our lives, we work more than we spend time with our families. So getting to know each other’s stories, I believe, is something that is important and necessary. I take my time to get to know my staff. To get to know their stories. What I find is that it is so beautiful to be able to connect with them at a deeper level. Just asking the question and the connection leads to actually creating a place and an environment where people feel that they matter. So today, I am inviting you to ask the question more often and watch the reaction. People like telling their stories. Most people want to tell their stories. So take the time to get to know the people that are around you and let’s stop having superficial relationships. Let’s reflect, reset and reconnect.
