Are you focused on your mission?
Today, I woke up feeling sad, trying to reflect on why I was feeling a little bit of emptiness and I realized that the reason was because I felt that I had abandoned my mission temporarily. Due to the Coronavirus, we closed the doors at Formé Medical Center. What I realized was that the last week, the fear and panic of getting this virus drove us to abandon the mission and the people that we care for. I know that we found a way to help them through telemedicine but there are so many people that need much more than telemedicine. As I received an email yesterday from our Medical Director, who received an email from a hospital asking for primary care doctors to volunteer to take care of patients that are getting better but need to leave the hospital because the hospitals need the beds for the sicker people, it made me realize how we had decided that we did not want to deal with the virus and it made me sad. It also made me realize that we are so vulnerable that fear can really control the best of us but I must say that I feel extremely focused on the mission even if I fell into the fear of the virus. The beauty of life is that we can reflect on the sadness. This is why I urge all of you to reflect everyday. We need to reflect, reset and reconnect with our missions. So my question to you is, where are you with your mission?
