In a conversation with Bold Journey, Maria Trusa shared her life story and the lessons that led her to become a symbol of resilience. The story begins when Maria opposed her father handing her 9-year-old self over to a “witch,” a friend of his, who forced her to drink alcohol, sexually abused her, and shattered her young body and soul.
One day, while crying on the floor, her mother sternly told her not to cry anymore. Although Maria resented this at the time, she later realized that it was at that moment when she had her first lesson in resilience.
Despite facing the aftermath of her trauma for many years, over time she developed more resilience and became a strong and determined person to break through the limits.
