María Trusa was part of the press conference proposed by County Executive George Latimer in which he presented the team to combat discrimination in Westchester County. María Trusa, in her speech as representative of the Latino community, expressed: “I came here looking for the dream but unfortunately many times this dream is destroyed by hate and today we are here representing humanity, we are not just Latinos, we are not just an ethnic group, nor a sexual identity, we are all human”
